Now i kn0w nitrous is a go0d mod for not so much $$$..but honestly what the safest system, and does it hurt your engine in the long run...What would be a go0d setup and what do i need for a go0d amount of shot and n-e-other mods to make it safe as can be???
I've used the NX wet system, and have had great results in my B20 CR-VTEC! I think the level of reliability really is up to the one that tunes the car. As long as you don't try to force too much N2O (over 50-shot on stock internals) and/or keep the engine tuned properly (correct temp plugs, correct fueling is key, etc) you should be fine. I found that it was FUN for a while, then it passed like a fad. But, definately enjoy it, I think! HTH

I have V-afc,cai.headers,exhaust...u think with a 50 shot i will be ok? or do i need something else? and your saying to do the Wet system??? whats better throttle N20 or button?
I got a custom NOS wet setup and it's great; easy to tune. As for the WOT switch or pushbutton, I use both for safety. That way it will only spray w/ the button down @ WOT, just so I don't nail it in 1st and hit the revlimiter.

I've been told by many people that the NX wet setup is the way to go.
Supposed to be the most complete.
Since dry systems run through your intake, It's supposed to take a toll on youir #1 cylinder.
Hope that helps.

so u think a 50-shot would be ok with minor mods if tuned correctly? Can u run the nitrous all night for instance street racing over 5 races???or is it dangerous, because i cant afford to blow my motor?
If I could do it all over again I would have gone with a NX wet kit. I currently have a zex nitrous kit and it's pretty safe. I have been running a 65 shot w/ stock timing for about a year now on my lude and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. With your mods you should be fine. Just be sure to get colder plugs. I have the zex plugs and I love 'em. Some people have had problems with them though but I haven't had any problems with 'em whatsoever. Just be sure to check your plugs after every run to be safe. They will tell you if you are detonating or not. As for your other question, I normally wait about 10-15 minutes after I squeeze before using the nitrous again.

1 step colder ngks (the ones you want) are 2 bucks eack....and for goodness sake you can run a 50 shot on about anything, its not that much....as for what switch is better? WOT, simply for the fact that you will never use n20 at part throttle, and if you do you shouldnt, youll break something
All kits are safe just as long as they are installed correctly and as long as it is used in moderation. Example a 50 shot on a 4 cyclinder with stock internals is fine just don't get what i like to call "nitrous happy" and start shooting a 150 shot into a stock 4 banger
I currently run a 75 shot on a stock block H22A1 via the 05030FI NOS kit. This kit uses Super Powershot solenoids which ******* suck. Wet kits are the way to go because they allow you to tune your car leaner when you are off the bottle and not have to worry about popping the motor when you spray. Basically you can choose between NOS and NX. Both are good kits but you'll need to get the cheater solenoids if you go with an NOS kit. I talked to an NX rep at one of their distribution centers last week and I was very impressed with their take on plungers and seals. Last year I had to rebuild my powershot solenoid 4 times because I kept deforming the seal in it. Over winter I sent it to NOS who put a new cadnium seal in it. Cadnium is some super tough **** but it isn't giving at all. If a bit of debri gets on the face of the seal it will not close completely and nitrous will leak by. Because of this I have to have my engine running before I ever open the bottle so that trace amounts of nitrous don't accumulate in the motor. NX compensated for trash getting on the seals by using a new silicon compound which is very durable but forgiving enough to seal with a bit of trash on the seal's face.
The stock h22 can take a 75 all day and I'm betting that it can take a 100 shot as well, but traction can be a PITA with that much hp.
You'll need a purge kit to go with whatever kit you get. You purge before your run to get the fresh nitrous up to the solenoid(Hold the purge button until you see a white cloud coming out) and purge after your run to get the nitrous out of the lines(this will save your seals and you won't look like a riceboy spraying a 75 shot and only making an extra 35 hp to the wheels). A bottle heater is also nice because it keeps the amount of nitrous getting into your motor consistent. This allows you to tune your car more precisely and still kick *** when it starts getting cold out.
Regardless of what shot size you run you'll need some NGK BKR7Es. Some people can run on the stock platinum plugs but they only cost $8 and they could save your motor so just play it safe. The general rule is knock timing back 1 degree for a 65 shot and 2 for a 75 shot. Some engine set ups need it and some don't. Use your head and you'll be fine.
If I blow these cadnium seals then I'll be switching to NX, but the domestic shop that I go to has been running NOS for years. Both companies make quality product.

hey laughin, would I have the same problem you had with the seals on the solenoid if i go with NOS? I plan on sprayin a 50shot once in a while when im in the mood to race some good cars instead of rice boys. what is the cause of this?
also, wont ur stock clutch not hold up to a 75shot?
or should i just go with NX as I am still saving up for some happy gas

i run a 75 shot on almost stock internals i just upgraded my plugs to colder and retarted my timing to 2 i havnt upgraded fuel pump yet but is recomended i guess i will when the time comes NX wet kit i havnt had prob yet (well i broke the shark 1 time) lol but **** happens.
The problem with the seals is that they get hot and then when they close the orifice on the bottom of the noid presses a nipple into the seal. This little nipple blocks alot of the nitrous flow and causes you to run rich. Like I said NOS makes good stuff, but their import kits are weak. Get a single fogger domestic kit or their direct port kit that doesn't use the powershot noids(I don't know the part number, sorry). Your other option is to go with NX. NX makes good ****. I run NOS because the 3 shops by me stock NOS parts. If I lived down in TX I'd go with NX because their based there and I could get the parts easily. Afterhourz has some damn good prices on NX BTW.
My stock clutch was getting pretty torn off of the 75 shot so I put an Exedy full face organic that I got from R and D. I haven't had a chance to test it out ont eh bottle yet though.
Also you don't need an aftermarket fuel pump for a 75 shot unless your stock one is worn out.

i use to have those bosch platinum 4+ lol the NX killed them they got to hot so i went to the NGKR plugs their hella colder and hella better. Nx says i need a aftermarket fuel pump for 75 shot or greater but i dont listen to most ppl i do it until it breaks then i upgrade
im dumb thou.
