I have a 97 prelude v tec and was thinking about getting a 50 or 75 shot. i dont have any engine modifications. is there anything i should do to my engine first to make it safe and how much would the nitrous cost for the whole kit? thanks

you might want to start your car out with I/H/E, not for the nitrous but for your own good. notrous kit should be about 700? around there. you have two different choices, WET and DRY. the zex kit is one of the popular ones, you can only jet it up to about 75 shot. corrct me i am wrong on any of this info

Like SS said, getting a good I/H/E setup first would be a good way to start out with, just so you're letting your motor breathe more, which you want anyways. A header isn't really a must unless you just really really want one, but it's up to you (Honda designs a damn good header for a factory part).

All you really need for a 75 shot setup, which is what I want also, is an ignition system, bigger fuel pump, a fuel pressure regulator of some kind (or V-AFC, whichever you prefer), and the nitrous kit itself. Get it tuned properly on the dyno, and you could get yourself into the 13s pretty easy--as long as you can drive worth anything

i suggest the same simple bolt on...i/h/e......but if you go with the ZEX kit....you can run a 55 jet and not have to worry too much....but i wouldnt do it more than a few times....get colder plugs would be one of the first things i would do.

I've been running a zex 65 shot on my car (97 ss) now for about a year and I haven't had any problems at all. I have i/e/p/zex plugs w/ stock timing and no aftermarket ignition. I just ran today for the first time on 91 octane gas, which is the highest octane over here btw, and I actually ran rich. The zex kit cost me like 500 bucks brand new. I'd recomend getting a bottle heater, purge, and pressure gauge when you purchase the nitrous kit. Those things will definently come in handy. Also, I wouldn't really worry too much about getting aftermarket headers for our cars. They really don't give too much hp/tq gains for the money imo. Get 'em if you want the look, other than that they are a waste of cash unless of course you get the mugen ones.
