Default New engine or keep fixing

I have a 92 f22A1 engine with 170,000 miles. Burns about a quart every oil change. It needs a new header, oil pan gasket seeping, tranny leak (very minor, like 2 drops after driving for a while), 3rd gear synchro is going out. Going to put synchromesh in today should prolong the tranny issue, but everything under the hood is getting older and older and problems are sure to arise. Should I get an engine swap or do you all think there is plenty of life left still in this puppy??

If a swap is in order..which one? USDM or JDM? I would definitely want to go V-TEC, but what else besides the engine would i need to upgrade? Axles? radiator? ETC..?

If your swapping, your going to need the motor and tranny together for the swap. Then your going to need the ECU and wire harness for the H22. USDM or JDM will work, JDM is preffered from what I read.

I can tell you your best friend is going to be the Search button at the top.

If the car is in good condition get a new motor swap, change ALL of the maintanence items on it and do all the preventative maintanence while the motor is out. Then, swap the motor in and have a car that won't need any major service for 3-4 years. This will give a whole new life to the car.

That's exactly what I did to my H22. It's going to be swapped in next weekend.

It's a great feeling giving a car that you like a 2nd life. My car should feel pretty much new when I am done with it.

I am going to do the same thing to my 240SX too.
