Default Need Some Help First Swap

My brother in law just bought a 96 Honda Prelude Si. He bought it not running having to do the harness. The motor inside it is a f22 from a honda accord. I think the original motor is supposed to be a h22 if im not correct. The person before aleardy tried to make a harness from both f22&h22 into 1. We hooked up all the necessary wires with no luck in the car starting or turning over. i cant here the fuel pump turn on either. He has the check engine light on and I tried to read it but it says no link. The harness he has is one with square clips for fuel injectors that are blue and another harness which are grey. I just want to help and see which harness would be better to get to just have all clips and sensors to work properly and only extend or modify different clips. He also has 2 ecus but I dont know which is either that will work. So yea first honda thing that has to do with a swap so please help.

If you need pics let me know

Look at the engine stamp and see what kind of engine it really has. The si for that year is an h23a1 unless it's the sivtec which would be the h22a1. Whichever engine ur using you will need the ecu for that particular engine.

I know on the door it says si. If he gets the ecu and harness of original motor should everything all hook up. And modification will have to be done for some wires

The one thats not hooked is PAA code and from what I heard it belongs to an f23 accord. And the one that is currently hooked up says p14. Now I did see that a p13 is OBD2 and a p14 is OBD1. Can anyone confirm this

why would you put another motor's ecu and harness on a different type of motor?

why? how does knowing that solve your problem?

you know it has the f22. get an f22 wiring harness and ecu. it will save you a lot of heartache and a LOT of time. do it right the first time.

So I should just use a F22 harness and a F22 ecu. I really dont care how its done as its not my car. He just wants to get the damn thing running so he can use it to get to work and back. I called the dealer so that that way I know what motor came with the car. Wouldnt it be easier just to use the original harness with original ecu and change a few sensors. I dont know how to do any of this and there is no faqs about going from H23 to F22. So i wanted to know which plugs would need to be modified in order for it to start and run using H23 Harness on a F22 Engine.

i would use the f22 harness and ecu. i don't know enough about the swap to know if you can use the h23...i doubt you can, though. look around the site and internet and search. i'm sure people have done it; see what they used.

Will do then. If it makes it easier to start it and use it then so be it. Thanks
