Need some help
Hey guys, I need to know how much torque to give the head bolts and the crankshaft pulley bolt. It's a H22A. Also when changing the timing belt do I only need to make sure that the cam gears and the crank are at TDC or is there other things I need to "align". Thanks.
Tighten the head bolts in 3 steps, with the last step being at 72 Ft/Lbs, in this order to prevent warpage:
9 – 5 – 1 – 3 – 7
8 – 4 – 2 – 6 – 10
1st step: 29 ft/lbs
2nd step: 51 ft/lbs
3rd step: 72 ft/lbs
The crank pully goes to 159 ft/lbs.
When you time it make sure every thing is lined up, there are several little marks on the block for the crank pully, oilpump, ext. the cam gears also have little groves in then make sure there lined up and then put the belt on. To insure proper timming spin the motor over manually 1 complete rotaion and cheak you marks if there all on your good to go.

Turn the motor over manually two full crankshaft rotations to make the cams turn one full rotation. The cam gears may say top or up on them so make sure they are oriented correctly.
