My car has developed a pretty nasty tick coming from the motor, i think. It speeds up as the RPM's increase. Other than that the car seems to run fine. Compression test showed this...... 200, 180, 195, 195. I changed the plugs when i did the test and the tick was still there. Can anybody help diagnose this or lead me in the right direction? Thanks.

 

yeap, 4 cyl valve tap. Happens over time. gap between valve and cam gets bigger, and it causes a slapping.

 

When was the last time you adjusted your valve clearances? It's sounds like your valve clearances are out of spec.

 

I adjusted the valves about 3 months ago, could it be this bad already?
