NA Engine Build ?
Can you double check my math on these main bearings. This is for a 95 H22 race built NA motor. Here are the specs that were measured. The numbers are averaged out as the bore in the block/cap was a little out of round. The crank was within .0002.
Crank Journal
#1 1.9680
#2 1.9680
#3 1.9679
#4 1.9680
#5 1.9681
Block Bore
#1 2.1269
#2 2.1269
#3 2.1268
#4 2.1276
#5 2.1271
The oil clearance specs I found in my Honda manual are:
#1 .0008-.0018
#2 .0008-.0018
#3 .0010-.0020
#4 .0005-.0015
#5 .0004-.0013
The stamp on my block is 3,3,2,3,3. The stamp on my crank is 3,4,4,4,5. By using the Honda manual, it says to use gr/gr, gr/br, gr/gr, gr/br, br/br.
How loose should I go? I thought it was wierd how small the #4 an #5 oil clearance is compared to the others. If I go by those numbers, the bearing colors for #4 and #5 are way different than the others. Can someone double check the oil clearances.

as long as you are using the factory main caps and the original crank you are ok.
no for loosness i would stick to factory clearances. if you are just using it to race with (drag only and trailered) you could step down a bearing size to loosen it up for a **** hair more power.
i dont have the manual in front of me but if you are reading the specs correctly then you will be fine.

Ok, that didn't answer anything I didn't already know. I guess no one knows and no one has a Honda H22 manual. From talking with Rocket and earl I'm going to run .0018 on all of them.
