Default Mechanical Problems?

Hey All! I have a '98 prelude sh all stock with 170k fwy miles and was wondering if I should keep it. So far I haven't had any mechanical problems. Replaced timing belt, starter, brake caliper and a cv boot. When does engine/tranny failture start kicking in? Does anyone have any problems with theirs? Anyways any insight would be great. thanks!

If you haven't had any problems with it, I'd get rid of it ASAP. How much do you want for it?

Mines been great for around 8000 miles already. Bought it when it had around 150k miles. Just did regular maintenance, and it's been good to me.

Your engine should last a good while as long as you keep up with maintenance. Unless you have an automatic, I don't think your tranny is gonna be failing very soon.

If it's got lots of problems, sell it. If it doesn't have problems, get rid of it before it does

Yeah no probles at all, just wear and tear stuff like brakes pads, tires, fuel filters, hoses, etc. If I sell it I want $7k for it. I been looking into a '07 TL-S.

Don't sell your car unless you want something else. 170k is nothing

Yeah I think it'll be best to keep it. Thanks for the input everyone. It's a blast to drive and still looks sporty considering it's a '98.

Good. Anybody that tells you to sell a car that runs great is crazy..."You better get rid of it before it DOES give you trouble". Sell a car that doesn't give you trouble, that you know its history and buy a car that you have no idea about.
