Lude stalling out, why?
It idles prefectly fine. Then when i take it out there is no lose of power. So it stalls when i take it out of gear and put it in neutral. the rpm's come down then when they get to around 1200 they just drop and the car stalls. It fires right back up but I have to keep giving it gas if i am in gear. I can save it from stalling if i hold the clutch in. So i dunno? Any ideas guys. Thanks!

is the MIL on?, you are saying that your car doesnt idle? it sounds like. (when i take my car out of gear it drops to 1200 then dies) right? Might be having a IAC problem

hmmm i know that a lot of the 97-99 preludes have this problem...we had a recall on our years for it....it might be the same thing which is the ignition switch.
have you done a major tune up on your car recently?

I'm reading 2 things in your post. One is the possibility that the TPS (throttle Position Sensor) is bad. The other thing you mention is the clutch. Can you maintain rpm with your foot off it and out of gear? Or do you have to press the pedal while out of gear. If either of these are in the picture then you should also have a MIL/CEL (check light).
The 3rd possibility is the Ignition switch as it is tough to diagnose and that is why Honda recalled so many cars.

I have the same problem. I changed the wires and it helped for a while. The flow chart goes, plugs, wires, distributor, fuel filter, fuel pump... but a guy i talked to also said on the car's he use to working on could also have the idler takeover messed up.. it would cause the same affect. Mine sometimes dipped to around 300 rpm's and i thought it was going to stall. My tended to do it more when I'd slow down.

Also i do not drive my car daily. I have an '01 maxima that i drive for now. I dont know whether it might i have been something i just drove off. Because i took my car out last night and it didnt do it at all. It was cold out last night and its been happening during the day whens it a little warmer I am thinking possibly not driving it and whether is just throwing things off? maybe? Thansk again! any more ideas? or anything to try to do with it?
