Well some of you may remember that my '95 VTec Prelude was sadly totalled about a month and a half ago. Well a guy at work has a '96 VTec and he's wanting to sell it...it's the same color, and it has the same interior. Well, in '96 didn't the Prelude come with an OBD2 ECU?
Here's my problem. This Prelude is exactly like mine was when I first got it...it needs a clutch and it has an oil leak somewhere. Well the motor and tranny in my '95 are fine. Now I was thinking I could just swap the motor, tranny, ecu, wiring, and V-AFC from my '95 into this '96 if I was to get it. But if any of you live in North Carolina you know that 96 and up cars (OBD2) are now being emissions tested. If I was to put an OBD1 ECU into an OBD2 car I would not be able to get it inspected. I miss my 'Lude
Any help will be greatly appreciated. My clutch kit, timing belt, and all that good stuff was only done 2k miles ago.

it will be perfectly fine, you could do one of two things:
put in the 95 motor and use the 96 computer daily...this will require wiring the ckp wires up to the distributor, but thats not hard....and then use the 96 knock sensor also....
that should do it...
