Default Lagging???

If anyone has any suggestions or has dealt with this please respond. I have a 97 Prelude that lags sometimes out of shifts. I'll release the clutch, give it gas and sometimes it hesitates. It does not do it all the time and I was wondering if it could possibly be backpressure produced from a clogged or faulty cat. converter. I've used some fuel system cleaner thinking that it could be my fuel injectors but it still seems to do it(not sure how effective that stuff is). The reason I suggest this is because sometimes my exhaust emits a foul smell and I just had a lot of head and block work done so I don't think it has anything to do with that area. Help!

good luck, I think most of us have this. Can't be the cat, I don't have one. Also have a 2.5" A'PEXi N1 exhaust. can't be the air filter, did it even after I put the AEM on. What it is... dunno. I forget who it was here... dang it, well they even tried to change thier knock sensor... IIRC it helped for what seemed to be a day and then did it again.

If it isn't ignition related (cap, rotor, plugs, wires), the next most common culprits are the O2 & knock sensor.
