Default Knock Sensor problem?

I've been having some problems with my car lately. Everytime I'm getting to a stop my idle seems to stay at like 1300 and as soon as I stop rolling the car dies on me. I try to start the car but it just cranks. I step on the gas all the way and finally starts. If I were to leave it with the key forward when it does that, my a/f gauge slowly starts moving from all lean to rich. Again I try to start the car, and starts without a problem. I then drive on home and my engine light turns on. I check it and it reads out code 23. It feels kind of sluggish when I take off from a stop sign. Once I gain speed it feels normal. I've changed out the sensor already but nothing. I thank you in advance.

sorry if its a bit sloppy but I just got home from a 5 hour drive.

no it doesn't knock and I did reset the ecu but nothing. It feels pretty sluggish after the light turns on. It also smells like gas.

check it again, make sure its not a different error code, check continuity between ecu and knock sensor, was the knock sensor a known working sensor?

It was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago. It keeps reading code 23 even without the engine light going on. I had checked for any codes 2 months ago and got one for the tps. I changed it and it was all good up until this started happening. Anyone have a working knock sensor they could sell?

After everytime you read your error code, you should reset the ecu. If your check engine light doesnt go on, it could just be that it didnt get erased. The sluggish part could be a different problem. You may have to start from scratch, check compression, try higher octane fuel, new spark plugs, reset ecu after new plugs.

Ok I've changed plugs, wires, reset ecu. and always use 93 octane. I havent checked compression in quite a while so I'll do that tomorrow. I found a k.s. at a junk yard for 45. I'll try that out as well. The guy told me if it doesn't solve the problem just to return it and he'll get me another one. He's helped me out before so I know he won't screw me over. I'll let you know if anything changes. What kind of comp. #s should I be expecting?

check the wiring going to the knock sensor...trace it back to the harness an make sure it is all sealed and connected

i had to change the whole thing once to get my cel to turn off...after replacing 6 sensors only to discover faulty wiring...thk god i get all my sensors free

a failed knock sensor will make the car bogg down but not die

switch out the tps and the knock sensor and c if it fixes your problem

as for the rattling sound it could be anything from an loose exhaust to bad suspension parts
