Knock sensor HELP & others
Hi there!!!
I am tuning my H22a1 using an AEM EMS, I tried on the AEM forum but they are kind of not getting me anywhere. So, this is my question:
But I want to have concrete information to tune my engine as it should :D.
My second question is:
Thanks in advance.
I am tuning my H22a1 using an AEM EMS, I tried on the AEM forum but they are kind of not getting me anywhere. So, this is my question:
How much volts have to show the Knock sensor to get a real detonation?
I am actually using the OEM (original) sensor that comes with the H22a1, so I hope that someone can help me. I am treating 2.95volts as SEVERE detonation, so my tuning map is extra safe. But I want to have concrete information to tune my engine as it should :D.
My second question is:
I found (JDM BB4) H22A cams on ebay, this are the OEM to, I want to gain more power, but: Is this a great upgrade to H22a1 or I should put the Euro R or Type S cams instead?
My engine is stock, I only have straight 2.5" muffler and direct air intake + aem ems ECU , and balance shaft removal. I want to buy some cams, these are cheap $55, but if I am not going to gain many HP & TQ I don't want to waist money on thing are not going to help. Thanks in advance.
If some one have an EURO R camshafts set or Type S for sale, please tell me :D

The stock JDM cams are either very similar or exactly the same as the USDM cams, so save your money there. The Euro-R and Type-S are the same cam, and you need the matching valve train and need to have your valve guides checked with the cams installed.
And by chance don't you know about the knock sensor!?
Thanks
