Default Keyless entry question.

I have a 2000 honda prelude SH. I need to know if it has a stock alarm or keyless entry (all i got with it was a key, didnt get any remote). Did the 2000 preludes come stock with a keyless entry. Also how would i know if i have keyless entry.

99+ all had keyless entry as standard, but I don't think any had an alarm. Get a compustar alarm for about 400 and you'll be set.

My prelude is a 2000 also, I have keyless entry (no keyless trunk though *tear*) and no stock alarm.

anyone else with the stock keyless entry: is there a way to set it so that the lights flash or the horn beeps when you lock it? all mine does is turn the interior lights on when i unlock it, but i get paronoid when i walk away, wondering if it's locked or not

Some Preludes do flash their lights, and some don't. There is no way that I know of to adjust this. But I say abandon the stock keyless and get a quality aftermarket alarm. 2-way systems that let you monitor the car from CompuStar are only 400 or so installed.

are you kidding me? im not sure how, but of course you can adjust this so that they wouldnt flash the lights. You'd just need to find the spot where the keyless entry system taps into the headlight wires

Well yeah, but there's no "on" switch to have the lights flash, which is what he was going after I think.

Mine doesn't flash it's lights, and not too many others do either.

i just know, some cars, there's not exactly a switch, but certain steps (key in the ignition, press the button on the remote, wait 10 seconds etc) you can take to enable a response. like, most honda's honk the horn when youlock them.. but you can disable the horn and have them just flash the lights.

i've looked through some service manuals at work but i can't find anything about it for the prelude
