if i take off my exhaust is it just as good or better than getting a catback or w/e kind of exhaust?

Yeah, you could probably disconnect your exhaust and gain as much as a cat-back (which isn't a whole lot), but the sound will be unbearable and you will be considered a ricer by all.

 

yeah plus i think you might be pulled over a few times because it might be considered illegal.

No it is not as good, you will most likely fail emissions, and it will sound terrible and loud, and you will get ticketed for it all the time.

 

Plus the fact that you would be throwing o2 codes and your car would smell like an oil refinery inside.

....and don't forget that you'll be running so little back-pressure, that your mid-range and low-end will be utterly useless.

....and the metal in your header will become brittle over time because the metal is heating up and cooling too quickly

...and your car will probably run too lean because you're flowing more air, but w/out additional fuel to match

....and you'll be contributing to the ricer stereotype
