Default JUN vs Skunk2

What would u choose?

skunk2 stage 2 cams.. cam gears... valvetrain upgrade

vs

jun cams(only 1 type for h22a)... cam gears.. valvetrain upgrade

specs of the cams to compare can be found here
http://www.skunk2.com/s2site/e...p.htm
http://www.junauto.co.jp/produ...ml?en

well the duration on the jun is longer for the vtec lobe..
s2 doesn't state their lift/duration for the primary and secondary lobes so i'm guessing it's just left stock?

anyone know how high a JUN setup like this would let u rev too?

also... how streetable is something like this..

i realise idle would be compromised(to some extent) but would it still be OK as a daily?

it would be fine for a daily driver...

as far as revving, those cams will make power as high as you can rev....they are huge...seriously, like 9k and up will be fine....thats not to say that a stock block could do that though....

yes JUN does, but there are many other manufacturers out there with springs that can handle big lift (without the JUN pricetag). Supertech, Ferrea, etc.

KMS claims their dual springs have been tested to perform reliably to 10,000 rpm - they only cost $174.95 - for the H series

With their entire valvetrain ( springs, retainers, seats.....) They're saying 11,000rpm can be acheived reliably..........

http://honda-performance.com/valve-train.asp

And it only cost $599.00 W/ a block guard

hmm that valvetrain package looks impressive.. can anyone else say these are good too?

so the JUN valvetrain set wouldnt be able to sustain such power? or u saying there are cheaper alternatives in maintaing such power/lift from the JUN cams?

I'm pretty sure JUN can handle it - but the price is the biggy. I know for a fact that KMS is a reputable company.

I've been looking into their stuff for a year.
Go to Honda-performance.com

They've been around for a while.

i agree, it looks great, but my point is the measured Max Lift (or spring compression).
JUN:???
Manley:.790"
Ferrea:13.5mm
Supertech:13.5mm
KMS: ???

and block guards are not necessarily teh best invention. IMHO.

youre gonna need some light *** bottom end components to spin out 10-11k rpms....otherwise you will be ruining bearings like its your job...

ditto. Would the car run ok w/ this setup and the stock ecu? (I realize a hondata setup or equiv. would be best, but there would be times when the stock ecu would be needed)

full blueprint + lightened crank, knife edged, rotationally balanced, light (super light, like Ti light) rods, small skirt lightweight pistons, etc.
