Default JDM Engine Differences?

I have some questions about JDM H22A engines, mainly the difference in the engine compared to the transmission. I was wondering if there is a difference in the engine itself in the automatic version and the manual version. Meaning, if you were to remove the transmission from a manual and an auto car, what would be the difference in these engines? Are the internals the same in both engines? Is it just simply the transmission that is different? This is of course assuming that both engines are VTEC engines and come from similar year cars. If someone know of any differences, or if both are the same once the transmission is remove, it would be greatly appreciated if you could enlighten me with your knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Well not among JDM engines (we'll exclude the type-s).

he was asking the differences between JDM engines with different trannies, not USDM ones. THerefore the engines are actually all the same (except the type-s). See what I mean?
