Not sure where that rumour got started, maybe just since the auto doesn't put as much power to the ground, since it is less effecient than the manual trans?

In any case they are the same compression, same cams etc. so the engine makes the same power.

ECU's are tuned for 10hp less than their manual counter parts.
that is all.

the only engines ever rated anything lower then 200 hp or so was: H22A5 182hp ,H22A2 182hp ,H22A1 (vti-r Australia) 182hp, h22a1 USDM 187 hp

as far as manual or auto is the same thing the engine does what it does power wise, now gear ratio bla bla bla 0-60 time 1/4 time bla bla is a different story.

the only time i ever seen a h22 do 160 is a h22a1 usdm but it was 160-165 whp so yea.

So if i bought an auto one, threw my manual 5speed into it, and the ecu, it should be putting out 200bhp. ( i know it wont be 200bhp now)

Yes, JDM H22A's, whether mated to an auto or manual transmission are rated with the same flywheel hp (200ps/197hp) and torque (218.7nm/161.3lbf·ft).

Key difference engine wise will be the throttle body blade having extra holes for the trany cable, but makes no difference for a manual. May also be flywheel differences and engine mount differences but I am unsure of that. Also, there is about a second difference between the two down the 1/4 mile (varies but ~15.2+/-0.4sec for a manual and ~16.2+/-0.4sec for an auto).

BHP is not wheel horsepower, its HP at the crank. the Si has 160hp at the crank, and it is also not a VTEC motor...
