Post INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL COIL HELP

I am doing a jdm h22a swap in my 94 VTEC prelude and the US h22a1 is external coiled and the JDM h22a is internal, which is the better route to keep, just keep the internal coil on the JDM motor or change it over to the external coil?

+1 it will make your wireing much simpler and if you need to replace the coil or dizzy or want to upgrade, you can use all off the shelf parts

I kept the internal coil distributor that came with my JDM H22A. It works fine and I still have the H23 external coil distributor if anything happens.

If you are using your H23 engine harness with the JDM Internal Coil Distributor be sure to jump the extra plug you'll have going to the distributor. A 30amp blade fuse works fine.

Here's a pic.

Same exact thing I did with my internal coil distributor but I would go with the external coil setup because I have heard things about the internal coil dizzy overheating then causing lag and acceleration problems.

really i actually have alittle lag on my setup now until i hit about 3500 rpm and it kinda feels like something is holding the car back and then when it hit 3500 it kicks in, you think that would be from the internal coil setup?
