Took out my intake manifold this weekend to clean out the EGR and decided to take it all apart and clean it all up GOOOOD........then instead of using oem honda plenum gaskets (they call it a bypass valve gasket) I went and made my own. Made them from the same stuff Hondata used for their Heatshield IM gasket. I figured why not, it'll be a nice little set of heatsoak fighting gaskets - plus these will give me a little extra hp/tq.
So I was wondering what other engines can use H22 plenum spacers? F-Series?

Oh nice! I need a set of that for my H. Remove my current IAB plates? and just slap on those?? and I guess they work as a IAB delete?

As for now I'm keeping my IAB funtional and just using them as a gasket with benefits.

For me, I'm using them as gaskets but I get the additional benefits of increased air volume and heat soak resistance - keeps intake air temps colder.
You can use one as a IAB delete and you would probably still see gains.

how much do you typically gain when removing them? on a stock h22 IHE?

most of the people I know usually stack a couple spacers (ported out of course) to increase plenum size. maybe this would be better to reduce temps?
and LOL at gaskets "with benefits"

The other thing that I found interesting while I was searching on HT is that jdogg, 98vtec, and mgags7 (yea...that's right, I'm naming names!) all seem to agree that just removing the IAB completely yield decent gains across the powerband.
I may just have to test that out if no one steps up.

haha you like that eh? I should use it as my motto.
yea, I figured since I was going to install the hondata heatshield, might as well make some for the IAB and lower my IAT even more.

I made my own spacer with other IAB plates from other engines. Halloed them out, and smoothed the edges down. All I used was about 5 dollars worth of dremmel bits and a spare IAB spacer, and JBwelded the holes up.

That's was what most people have done but I don't have a welder and I wanted to use the stuff that would keep the IAT cooler.
Just an FYI this won't work as an IAB delete, the upper and lower plenum are designed differently, and will leak.
The part that is in the front center, around the bolt hole, the little square lookin thing with the bottom cut out, will leak. You can see it in the picture of the manifold, how the upper plenum shadows the IAB plate.

Thanks! I'll add that to the list. I'm in the process of making one for GSR's, as the b18 plenum gasket is different than that of the h22.
PM me to purchase.
