iceman cai with BPi flowstack?
I was wondering if the Iceman CAI and BPi flowstack are compatible. Does anyone know the filter diameter of the Iceman? Is it 3" or is it more? The reason I ask is because I may be able to get an Iceman for pretty cheap.
Don't know what a bpi flowstack is but the question is whether it has a flexible base where it attaches to the Iceman tube. If you use the Iceman in a CAI configuration, the tube becomes an oval, so you can't use a filter with rigid opening. In SRI configuration the iceman turns into in circle though.
Here's a pic I found: http://www.icemanmotorsports.c...9.gif
That small piece in the top picture is what the filter attaches to. You can see that it's oval. So you're SOL I think.

As previusly stated, the iceman will not work with the BPi flow stack as a cai. As a sri, the iceman does have an oval inlet, although it is 3.5" dia, whereas the stack is 3" dia. So, no matter how you slice it, they won't go together.
Also, even if the stack would work in the sri configuration, I don't think there is enough room for the stack + the filter.

Thanks for the prompt responses. I guess Ill be using an ebay intake with the flow stack then.
ludiferino, I remember you said you were going to test/dyno the Iceman against the BPi a while ago in another thread. Did you ever get around to doing that? Did you put the flow stack on your car? If so, how do you like it in comparison to the Iceman?

Yes, I did plan to dyno test the two intakes against each other, but this has not happened. The shop which tuned my car, didn't try the ebay pipe with stack; I found this out when I went to pickup the car, and didn't have time to leave it as I needed the car for an auto-x. I still plan to compare them, but I don't know when I'll have the chance.
Also, I don't have a driving impression as I wanted to see the dyno results before I hacked up the "cai hole" to fit the 3" pipe through; the iceman doesn't require you to open the original intake pass-through like a 3" tube will. Although, I am tempted to through it on before the next auto-x, even though I already have wheel spin issues.
When I get the test done I will post the results, but cannot give a timelime.
