Default IAB Question

Does it make a difference if you disconnect the IAB Solenoid, disconnect the vacuum line to the IAB's, plug up the vacuum lines, then run the IAB's open all times? Are there any ups and downs to this??

unless like me you have a problem with the short runners not opening when they should, you will see no increase anywhere, only a loss lower down when it should be running on the longer runners.

Actually, there will be a mild increase in the 3500-4800 area where the runners are normally closed. You will definitely lose low end power though

see i thought that too but people told me that i was wrong and that it was just the extra noise that was making me think i was gaining a little bit more power at about 4k. i also found that it was a lot easier to stall, especially with my test pipe installed.

i would be able to get a dyno plot of the car with the short runners but i cant get one with the system running as it should because with the line connected to the diaphram the long runners stay open all the time.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by pizzamanprelude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i would be able to get a dyno plot of the car with the short runners but i cant get one with the system running as it should because with the line connected to the diaphram the long runners stay open all the time.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Then grab the little tab that is connected to the actuator and hold it closed till about 4500-5000

you'll lose some power, but you can tune around it.
