I need help
Is it possible to have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear from the H22 transmission, and also have the 4th and 5th gear of the H23 trans all in one? The reason why I am saying this because I am going to hybrid my transmission and wanting to know first before the transmission goes to the shop. My 3rd gear pops out and no more 4th gear that is why I am doing this major hybrid thing. What will I need? Is it possible? Money is no concern. I am doing this before building my h22 head.
Yes, f and h series are interchangeable. On my 1995 honda prelude vtec. I have a h23 tranny and the gears are really short (70mph-3900rpm)
It gets bag gas mileage so im taking to shop to have them put in a h22 5th gear cyncro.
If I were you id do the EXACT opposite. Have h23 1-3rd gear, and 4-5th have h22, itl be fast but still get good gas mileage.

Ok, all of this = FAIL.
First, your thread title is non-descriptive. Try a little more detail next time.
Second, the 4th and 5th gears from the M2S4 (transmission in the 1992-1996 USDM Prelude Si) has the exact same gearing as the 4th and 5th gears from the M2U4/M2Y4 (transmission in the 1997-2001 USDM Prelude). So swapping them will do nothing. However, if you're talking about the 4th and 5th gears from the M2F4 (transmission in the 1993-1996 USDM Prelude VTEC), those gears are shorter than the M2S4. This would increase acceleration and decrease gas mileage.
Third, (for Serjey) the "H23 gears" from the USDM Prelude are not shorter than the "H22 gears" from the 4G Prelude VTEC. First gear is the same, and all remaining gears are shorter in the M2F4.
Fourth, as I pointed out already, there's no such thing as an H22 transmission or an H23 transmission. In the US alone, there were 3 different transmissions mated to the H22. There are over a dozen world-wide. Similarly, there's a lot more than one transmission that came mated to an H23 engine.
For further clarification, please use my Transmission Chart (also can be found in the FAQ, go figure).

EDIT: Forgot to address the primary question. Because of the way they are mounted to the shaft, some gears are interchangeable and some are not.

From what I know, h23 are longer gears than h22, but the 1st and 5th gear are similar like Kronn said. But what I don't get is that my gears are long as hell and still I am able to kept up with a h22 with h22 trans. Can my transmission be something from an F-series transmission? I have the M2S4 from my previous H23 but 1st gear is shot up.
OK let me resate my question.
I have a 1995 Honda prelude vtec, H22a1 engine with a usdm 1993 honda prelude si (h23) 5 speed transmission, The gears are short.
My brother had a 1995 honda accord with h22a with the f22 tranny that came stock on his accord, every time he shifted it would go out of vtec, meaning the gears are long,
on my car, at 70mph it at 4000rpm with the h23 usdm si tranny. Meaning it has the short gears meaning the USDM h22 93-96 has the middle gears, IDK what the exact gear ratios are but from my experience, this is what i know for long and short gears, I dont understand m2a4 of m2b4 or any of those codes, I call the trannys by what year of car they are from and what kind of engine they came with.
Thanks.

Okay, I am sorry.
May I have the accord transmission, and runs like a true h22? This is what happened to my buddy's accord. He installed his accord transmission to his h22 and it runs shitty. But on the other hand, I have this transmission with no numbers on or even VIN number and I run perfectly fine because it's strong. My 5th gear is long and compare to racing others h22, they always shift before me and when they are about to hit 4th gear, I am still in 3rd at 6500rpm. Got to say, I save gas. About 27mpg round trip. This is about performance and saving gas. I think I only need h22's 1-3 gears if it's even possible.

Okay thanks. But why is it when I was still running with my h23, I have long gears too? 70mph @ 3500rpm. Still happened with my h22.
So when your brother is running that h22 with accord trans, was he not running right?
yeah man, when you have a h22 engine with h22 tranny, everytime you go to redline and shift, it goes back to about 5500 and vtec hits at 5000k on stock h22, but with my brothers jdm h22 and accord tranny everytime he shifted at redline it would go back to like 4600rpm, mean leave vtec, then hit it again, making it slow, gears were reallyy long. 3rd gear was past 90mph. But with my h22 with h23 tranny I max out at like 84mphish in 3rd
Just do this, If you have short gears in your tranny, go to a honda/acura shop, pay some money say you want a h22 5th gear cyncro (thats if you have a h22 tranny) and have them do that, If you have long gears, might as well buy a whole new tranny on craigslist, you can get one for like 40 bucks.

Why does his bounce back that far? I think he is not running right because my car will never do that. My vtec hits hard at 4800rpm and I redline at 8000rpm. When I shift, my rpm will hit exactly at 5200rpm. I know it's hard to tell now that all the numbers are gone and can't tell what I have now because I got it from Tigerjapanese.com. My 3rd will actually maxed out above 100mph. Don't know about others.
yeah, Normal h22 will not hit 100 in 3rd. My brothers rev limiter was at 7600, vtec at 5k, when he redlines and shifted it would go below 5k, on your size, your vtec kicks in a 4800, and you rev to 8k, so when you shift, it go back to 5200, but if you only revved to 7600rpm, then it would go back to under 5000rpm. Really confusing. lol, bear with me.

I never really drove his accord so I cant say where exacly it bounced back to, all I know is he said it went back out of vec, so if it should go back to 4800 like you said, vtec is at 5k, so even that is out of vtec and will take 1 second to get back into vtec making the car alot slower. I also read somewhere that F22 trannys are the FH version of LS integra trannys for b series, ls longest, gsr middle, b16 shortest.
And when I say short, I mean that your max speed in a gear isnt that much, and when I say long I mean max speed is alot in a certain gear, just to clarify.

^Truth, as I had a H23a1 and M2S4 gearbox, 5th was at 4k doing 80 on the highway with a wheel and tire set up within spec.
To end this thread, OP, if money really is no problem then why not get a Euro R trans or replace your gears and get a higher final with a quaife or cusco LSD? The only problem with the final drive idea on a M2S4 or M2F4 is the 5th gear being reduced which wouldn't be great on a daily, it's why I went with the T2W4.
