HYtech HEader
Just got the HYtech header installed tonight over my DC...noticed a very small difference...Um can u babies please explain why i didn't notice the huge difference in gains...john told me 20whp...but i have an automatic SS would that be still recieving 20whp
Before you dyno tune, make the most of it and make sure you get a good exhaust and intake system set up first. (assuming you haven't already) You can't just slap something on and expect it to make 10 more horses on it's own. Especially w/o tuning.
would i benefit more from the vafc 1 or 2...or the safc....i want to gain low end tq ...my mods are HYtech header/ Sk2 IM/ Greddy Exhaust/ Custom Test pipe/ CAI with BPI flowstack/ AEM pulleys/ UR Crank pulley

If you have to chose just get a vafc 1 or 2 doesn't really matter just not the Safc so you can adjust vtec acordingly. I would still get a FPR to get the base fuel right and then u can use the VAFC to sort of fine tune the fuel after the base fuel pressure is set.
I know everybody is going to say expletive an VAFC get hondata, chrome, Aem, blah blah blah. IMO if you fully utilize your afc you wont be dissapointed. I guess it's the old school in me. Yes you can make more power and have a better tune with hondata( if you know what your doing). I know for a fact back in 2001-2002 we had a bolt on JDM swapped 4th gen going high 13's on a FPR/VAFC tune. On street tires. Here it is 2007 and there are only a few prelude that can even reach that point on slick with a built motor.
Ok end of rant

I would hope so
as far as "setting" vtec. The thing is you want it to almost seem like it's not there. All these people saying "vtec kicks in so hard" there car is not properly tuned. It should be a smooth transition when vtec engages.

Tune it please......the HyTech was worth 13whp/15wtq on my friends EuroR over a WeaponR w/ 2.5" collector.
Tuning is very very key though......I have seen Preludes with i/h/e making peanuts more untuned than a stock setup. I.E My friends Prelude with SMSP/i/e made 168whp(5-7whp more than stock Preludes on the same dyno) After about an hour and 8-12 dyno pulls we got 183whp from it.....
Did I mention tuning?!

P.S. John from HYTECH does not sell junk!!! I have had the spec II header on my N20 lude for over 2 years and I am a very satisfied customer. Also the auto is not going to produce the same gains as a stick car

You SpecII pimp! Even N/A you have better stuff than 99%......
IMHO I think money would've been better spent saving for a trans swap......
Even at 7psi (JRSC) my friends SS 5th gen only made ~190whp......
SWAP SWAP SWAP SWAP SWAP SWAP!!!!!!!
Keep us posted when you get dyno numbers.....until then, most OG HT'ers won't even acknowledge your existence......

BTW: In my experience, H22's love the 4900-5000 mark......May be different with Autos though. I will tell you, go up or down too much and the power will disappear. When I tried 4800 on my car powerband fell on its face to the tune of a ~20whp loss.

Damn thats what I'm talkin about.
Actually it does and can tune part throttle. Depending how you setup the afc and it will show you how much fuel percentage is being taken out or added at what throttle. So if you know how to properly use the afc you CAN infact tune part throttle as well as full. Timing is also adjusted threw the afc depending which way you go with the fuel.
I am not saying it's the best tuning device by any means but.... provided you know what your doing it can preform and get the job done. I have been faster( 12.80's) on a afc and stock H22a and a dry ZEX kit back in 2001 on my daily driven drag radial Prelude. Most can do to this day with a built motor, S300, turbo, supercharged, and or nitrous in there preludes.
I guess that's why I get a kick out of all these built motor S200 S300 Ectune AEM blah blah blah cars that can't preform with old technoligy that apparently doesn't work. Right? IMO what good is a managment system if you can't even use it? I guess it's just cool to say I have this or that?
This is just my point of view
