Default HYTECH header

guys just need some info...

i know the headers that are really good are RMF, SMSP, DTR, etc... but i wanted to get some input on the HYTECH header...

i just called a while ago and asked some info from the guy, he said that it is selling for $1100... now, is paying that much worthit? or should i go for something like RMF, or even SMSP?

if any of you have this header please put some input. TIA!

but the RMF for 850 is mild steel coated right?

nothing yet on the motor right now... i just have I/E right now... but in the future, i am planning on changing internals...camshafts(stage 2 or even stage 3),valve springs, euro r IM, TB, etc...

i am hoping to break 220ish-240ish...

what you guys think?

a good header will make major power no matter the mods

hytech headers are right in line with the rest of the top of the line stuff

edit: and yes the rmf is coated, i have had mine for some time now and the coating is holding up perfectly

Hytech makes good stuff & they have a few designs to work optimally with different set-ups. You let them know what you're doing with your engine, & they'll provide the header that will perform well with it. I already have my Hytech header that will be going into my current project car.

If you're looking at the basic header from each company (designed to work with stock head and internals), Hytech makes a little more power down low compared to SMSP while SMSP makes a little more at the top end. Please don't ask for dyno plots b/c I found them on PreludeOnline well over a year ago More important though is the customer service - call all three companies and talk with them about their header and how they can build the best header for your application. Personally, I was more impressed with the folks at Hytech than at SMSP. Unfortunately, I can't afford either right now

John @ Hytech is an awesome guy.

He is local to me, so I went to his shop when I ordered my header. Very knowledgable and took out a lot of time in his busy schedule to talk to me. His shop is very nice, had a ~300 hp NA RSX.

I fully support Hytech exhaust. Extremely high quality products backed by a person as cool as John, you can't go wrong!

edit: I see you're in Irvine... Go to his shop and talk to him!
