Default how hard is it?

I want to put a H22 in place of my H23 in my 92 prelude si.... but the thing is i eventually going to run hondata too. So i think the only part i need for the swap is the motor because the H23 tranmissions is a direct bolt up i think right? I have a few questions actually... if i want to run hondata what ecu should i use with the H22 and how hard is this "swap" all together from start to finish... thanx and last thing, does JDM or USDM H22 make a difference in any steps or procedures etc?

You should search on this.......... there are plenty of good topics about it, but in short, yes the trans will be a direct bolt up, as for hondata, I think its a P78 ECU, but don't hold me to that, as I do not run hondata......... You're also going to have to splice the harness for the vtec solenoid..... other than that its a basic engine swap........ but again........ search!!

yea, definitely do a search, the original ECU for the h22 is the p13, but as far as running a hondata i'm not sure on whether or not you need a different ecu, but search for the topics and PM some people that you see have done the swap themselves

Any F/H series tranny will bolt up to any F/H series motor, as far as the ECU swap it is not too diffucult, just time consuming.

you can use the p72 or p28 ecus. however the p72 is ideal for na, as it still retains control of the IAB's. The p28 is more commonly used for FI applications.

Its not all for 30hp... the thing is, the H22 has so much more all motor afternarket compared to the H23 its a fricken joke. And im the Hondata will be to tune the all motor setup in the long run... and why H22 tran better...? i meen this is just a fun note... but with the RPM capabilities of the H22 and the H23 long gears, top speed on H23 is 139 at like 6200-6300rpm... so at 6800-7000 thats like 150mph+ but u dont really neeed that i guess. I just would rather start with an application i can run 220whp and alot better rpm, then sink the same aount of money into the H23 and have it barely scratch 200whp if im lucky

not to mention with a sleeved block 9.5:1 compression and built internals... i could run 210-220whp on the street... and on the days at the track slap on the slicks and open up that pretty bottle in the trunk n run a 75shot so i can break 13's in my 2800lb tank of a car (damn heavy ludes)
