hey guys i was wondering what speeds ur hitting at which gears/ thanx(and thats redlining incase u were wondering)

 

Right around these numbers.

1 40
2 60
3 90
4 115
5 been to 135

 

Mikeyslude is pretty bang on with those numbers!! ... although the 5th gear can do more about 150, maybe more if it's FI or spray

 

but i think Mikeyslude is boosted. (sig).. i imagine you could hit 145+ though.. i redline in my 4th gen in 5th gear at like 138

 

but he said he's "been to" 135 ... i'm sure if he had enuf open road and if he is FI, then for sure he could go 150 ...

Your top speeds make no difference whether you're boosted or not...it's gear ratios and rpms. 2 cars with the same tranny and redline will have exactly the same top speeds in each gear. If the one is boosted with 400hp it just gets there faster.

The mathematical top speeds for USDM preludes with a 7800 fuel cut and stock tire sizes are

4th gen VTEC tranny
1 - 39
2 - 67
3 - 96
4 - 121
5 - 149

5th gen
1- 40
2 - 67
3 - 97
4 - 127
5 - 161

 

Math?!?! Bah, max speed is just around 144-148. There is a pic on another site ill get over here with one at redline at max speed.

 

I was following a 300Z across Howard Franklin Bridge (about 5 mi) and backed off cause I wasn't on the best of tires. I'll find out after the rebuild is complete and the car is tuned what it can actually do very soon. I have second thoughts about going over 100mph now unless i'm on a track.

 

It got to 150 mph easily in my stock 5th gen, and it was still wasnt redlined (very close though).
