how do i get engine trouble code in a 97
you can get one by breaking something, ha ha
Do you mean how do you pull what code it is from the car to figure out your problem?
You have to jump (short) the service connector and turn on the ignition. The MIL (or CEL) light will blink and tell you the code. One long blink is equal to 10 and one short blink is equal to 1. i.e. 2 long blinks and 1 short blink is 21.
The service connector is on the right hand side (as you are sitting in the car) of the center console behind one the the removable panels that is carpeted. The Helm's manual has clear instructions on how to pull the codes and what each code means.
