How do I decode Prelude engine blocks?
Hey guys,
I bought a junk lude for parts and am trying to find out what engine is in it. It seems like someone swapped in another motor.
I think it is a 160 hp USDM Si motor w/5spd but am not sure
It is a dual overhead cam non vTech and has the following engine code:
H23a
1323483
Does anyone know of an engine decoding site on line? Or do you know what motor I have and what horsepower it is rated at?
I can't use the vehicle VIN as this motor is not the original one.
Thanks.......Dave

if there's not a 1 at the end of H23A, wouldnt it be a jdm motor???

yeah if it was just H23A it's fromlike australia or an export country in the east, but not japan. Like Todd says Japan only offered the 85mm bore version aka the F22B DOHC
