Default high compression?

so im thinking about building another motor i finished my turbo motor about 3 months ago now i want to build a wild all motor setup. I was wandering how high of compression you can go in an h22? obviosly with supporting mods i have a custom made set of street sweepers, itb's with the correct fuel system lightened crank, and manley h beam rods i just dont know how high of compression i can go. oh its also sleeved. i wanna go like 16.1 or higher any ideas?

It's all about the fuel. 16:1 is certainly achievable, I think I've heard of 17:1 before. Not my area of expertise however, so others will have more detailed information.

That's a pretty high goal. I haven't had experince with that high of compression.

I'm sure it doable with the right fuel and tuning.

Well of course I'll have all the fuel I'll need and it's gunna get tuned on an aem I just want to know if it's possible with piston to valve clearence has anybody done this high of compression?

There is a guy around here...I dunno he may even have been up here, a buddy of mine says he was..anyway..He has a JDMh22a set up that's supposedly operating at 17:1, all motor build from the crank up and that thing absolutely HAULS, it's streeted around here often, and he's sonned everything from other civics to even a Vette.

IT CAN BE DONE...you just have to invest wisely, namely on anything that's going to toughen up that block, GOOD tuning and at that compression i'm almost certain he's on race gas.

Not by 2 or 3 lengths it won't. To even THINK about achieving that without taking the ultra-high compression route that thing would have to be dropped into a CRX and that's for the absolute BEST Power to Weight Ratio possible. VETTES themselves have awesome power to weight ratio's..averaging in at what, roughly 3500, 3700 max with about 420 horses (BASE model) to move it along...that's a GOOOD power to weight ratio for something with a V8 in it. I don't know if he's running any addatives (Like Nos - which I frown on), but when an all motor civic in a bubble can line up with a C6 and take it by a few lengths i'm thinking that's above JUST BOLT ON status.

Just make sure you take your time and clay the motor and check tolerances.
