Default Help for removing Rotors.

hey guys, iv'e been trying to remove these rotors of my 99SH. Anybody knows how to get those to philip screws that goes in to the hub? I tried to used impact screw driver since the shop recommended me to do it this way cuz they can't do it cuz they don't have one (cheap). Anyway, I bought that impact screw driver but unfortunately did not work at all (until it broke). One of the bolt on the driver side, I stripped it, drilled it ( I was frustrated)so that head would get smaller and I can slip the rotor out but take too long to do it.

Any Ideas would be appreciated. thanks

i used a ball hammer to hit the screw head not too hard
then a screwdriver into the head and hammered the end of the screw driver
kept doing both it a few times
and the screw will be easy enough to remove with a screw driver

I've had this happen to me. So you're wondering how you take out that striped philips head? What I did was I drilled it through until I drilled off most of the bit. I then used a rubber malet to hammer the rotor.

I dont even bother trying to take them out anymore. I just drill them out, and and file the hub smooth where the screw was so the rotor can sit flat once put back on. They really are not needed.

if you stripped it you probably have to drill it now, you dont really need them though, so you should be alright

Yea been there done that. I used an ease out and the backed the bolts out with no problem. You drill a small hole and put the ease out in the hole, with the drill in reverse slowly back it out. Pretty easy, don't bother getting new screws to put back in the only reason they are really on there is to hold the rotor in position while the car is going down the assembly line before it gets the rims and tires put on.

yeah, that's what im thinking just stripped all heads of those screw but it took me little bit just to stripped one head. I used different bit and I also used easy out bit. that b*tch is hard. I am not planning to put new one cuz i know there is no used on those screws ones those wheels are installed.

how long are those screws? to I need no cut them or just file the heads? thanks guys.. I thought that impact screw driver would work.

one other trick for removing a stripped screw before you've drilled it or something - is to take a centerpunch (or even a punch and hammer) and make a small indent on the outer circumference of the screw - then using a regular punch and hammer use that indent to tap the screw counterclockwise (obviously) holding the punch non-perpendicular so the force is in the direction of counterclockise turning haha hope that makes sense.
