Ok so i was taking my seats and console out to detail the interior and i noticed this small blue bulb just hanging.....It is identical to the one that lights up the ashtray...I couldn't figure out where it goes or what its supposed to "light up". When i turn my lights on it turns on automatically....Any ideas?? Here's the pics

 

its either the light for that lights up the ring around the cig lighter or the light that goes inside the ashtray/coin holder thing.

 

Looks to me that your car had an automatic tranny in it and this is the light that lights up the shift indicator. Hope I am right. Al

 

thats impossible because its a stock usdm si vtec model..They only came with a 5 speed manual....I was thinking its for the cigarette lighter ring but i cant see where to hook it up to...Also the ashtray light is already in place...this light is for something else

 

Its definately the one for your cigarette lighter. Look on the outside
of the metal cylinder which holds the lighter, there is a small square
that the bulb housing clips into. If it isnt there, then your lighter unit
may have been replaced with a universal type from an auto store that
doesnt have a light.

You can see it on the top of part #48 in the diagram.

 

thanks..thats what i was thinking..It looks like the oem cigarette lighter so ill see if i can see where it goes..
