HELP!!! 5th gen + code p0133
hey all, i have a turbo 5th gen and today when i went to start the car up it would not turn over...so i tried like 5 min later and it fired right up...so i let her warm up for like 10 min cause it was cold outside...(new Jersey
)... then i started my journey to work..and the car started bogging like MAD...
after 2 grand...and won't go past 3000 rpm's.....
i don't have a a/f guage ....but it felt and sounded like when i had my car on the dyno and we turned the boost retard all the way up...it was making a putting noise from the exhaust
i took the car home...and even though there was no CEL...i scanned her ...and got p0133 as a pending code...
and i know it is ( 02 sensor circut slow response (bank no. 1. sensor no. 1))
but i don't know how to find the bank no. 1 .....and i don't understand why this would all of the sudden happen?
now if the ecu is at fault...i bought my car as a salvage...and it has 60,000 original miles...does anybody know if i will still be covered under warranty???

Sounds like your primary sensor is going. Try replacing it with an OEM one. what exhaust mods do you have in place? I throw this every so often myself even after replacing the sensor.
i have a 2.5in dp going to the factory cat and then a 3in custom cat back...
since i still have the factory cat...what other signs would be associated w/ a clogged cat?
like if i reset the ecu tomorrow...and the car works fine then it is not the cat right?

The bogging is a characteristic of a clogged cat and/or 02 sensor going out... If your able to unbolt the cat from the exhaust you'll be able to see if the honecomb is broken up.
If you reset the ecu it might trick the 02 sensor for a few drive cycles, but it would start back again.

Yeah that is kind of odd, but even with it pending, that still shows signs of problems related with your cat.
60,000 is about the same amount of miles that my cat went bad.

today i reset the ecu...and took the car for a test run...
after it warmed up...it was driving fine..and i was able to go past 3000 rpm...then all of the sudden it started to bog bad again...
so i let off of the gas and let the car come to a complete stop...than i drove againg and it was fine...
so when i returned home...i wanted to check the ecu for any pending codes...since i reset it....and sure enough that p0133 was pending...
so i shut the car off...and did not reset the ecu this time...because i hear if a pending code is thrown 2 times consecutivly than it will trigger a cell...
so i tried to start the car and it makes a rapid clicking noise...
(like 5-7 click really fast)...and won't start...so i let off and tried again....now the this time nothing seems to work....
like lights...radio...nothing...so i immediatly suspect my battery...
go to charge it and it is almost fully charged...
i try again and nothing...
so i'm like WTF....i wait 20 min tring to figure out whats up and try it again and the car starts up like noting was wrong...
then i take her out for a second test run...this time will a voltometer...to measure the battery...and when i'm driving i notice it is at 14.1....than goes down to 12.7...and then stays at 12.7 for a like 10 min....than goes back to 14.1...and than back to 12.7
mind you nothing in the car is on...i.e
heat, radio, lights...nothing
so this time it didn't bog at all...
so i brought it home and scanned it...and i through a p0133 pending...and a 02 readiness test not complete and a egr readiness test not complete...
i wanted to see once again if the ecu would throw a cel for the p0133 coming on twice in a row...so i shut the car..down...waited like 5 min...and than that DAMN fast clicking noise...
than NOTHING...the car seems like it is dead...but that battery is fully charged...i am sooooo pissed right now....

- Is it like a starter clicking noise?
- Anything around 13 volts is normal, and with you driving, it is normal for your volts to show higher.
