help

when i connect the negative battery terminal, the fuel pump primes and the gauge cluster comes on as if the key was in.

Tough one there, maybe its a bad ignition switch?

when i unplug the ignition switch from the harness, it still happens. even with all 3 harness plugs the cluster has power. only when the middle plug is plugged in does the fuel pump prime

UNder the dash fuse box or under hood box might have a short
