Ok, so I have this SS header and instead of heat wrapping it I was thinking about applying some Black Satin Coating

So the question would be is it alright to Sandblast a SS header and if so should I apply any Hi-Temp Silicone Coating on is aswell either before the black satin or after the satin has cured on the vehicle to give it an extra shielded layer or protection to possible help prevent chipping or scratching or anything of the sort?
