Default Head tech

I wanna talk about the h22 head and it's parts. The point of this is to figure out what max lift can be. Basically I see skunk has One cam that has lift as high as 13mm or .511" but only on long duration cam. What I want it a short duration high lift cam. Something that can lift the valve to peak flow fast and shut it off fast as to keep boost in and spool well. It seems the Hea can do it cause skunk does but why not with a shorter duration for boost guys.

Yes I know you can "just turn up the boost" but why not flow the max amount with every psi?

Nobody? Anybody know max lift on the lma's with stock base circle? Can the h22 lma's be squished more than B series style lma's? Or are they the same?

Search the archives of the All motor section. The h22 head has been discussed in depth.

What is the point of the question regarding the LMA's? What is it you hope to gain? What is the stock base circle? What do you mean can they be squished??

Your limiting factors are P2V clearance, V2V clearance (although shouldn't be much of an issue with short duration since the overlap will be minimal), and valve float, which is dependent on your valvetrain. With a high lift, short duration cam, expect to see shorter life out of your head and valvetrain as the valves will be slamming down into their seats with such a high velocity. Ramp speed plays a factor here, but only to an extent; your average valve speed will still be high regardless.

my goal is 450 wheel is all. i want it to be able to keep up with my tahoe and or be faster. it will have high and low boost for street and play.

do thay not make hardened rockers for these motors? i was thinking a factory type duration just higher lift. i'll do more research on it all. maybe just some port work will do nice. then again if i got the right size turbine housing with a good header i might could use a longer duration cam. i know i know to much over lap is "bad" for turbo. but ive used some lopey *** cams on turbo setups with good results. as long as boost and back pressure stay 1:1 its not too bad.

my biggest thing is i want to be sure my h22 head can feed the f23 with enough air on its own to pull 7500-8000 rpm. and i'm not sure the stock cams can do that. even if it is the jdm head.

at 8k rpm i wouldn't worry so much about air flow, as much as bottom end balance....

it will be built bottom end. not just a stock block with h22 head on it. if the turbo will light and make power early enough to not need 8000rpm then so be it.

well i want it faster than the tahoe. my best run so far was 12.33 @110. but i have made a few adjustments since then so i really believe a high 11 is possible now. i have chased down a couple nice bike since the adjustments so we shall see. when the weather is better lol. 100* heat doesn't do so well, pulls too much timing due to the heat/tuning. the meth helps but lets face it, at those temps the air just isn't gona make the power.

The stock cams will easily support 450hp, I dont think it would be worth the money to run anything else.
