harness problem???
i just tried to install the vafc wiring harness from boomslang(new one) in my 5gen. When everything was hook up, i tried to crank up my car (the vafc wasnt install yet) i was trying to run the car with just with harness, (which it should run with no problem) but that wasnt the case, my car crank up in a wierd way and 3 seconds later it throw me a check engine light so turn off the car right way hoping there was no damage. then i put everything back together the without the aftermarket harness, crank up the car and there was no problem whatsoever. what the hell went wrong? i got obd2A style Vafc harness but something tells me its the wrong one. Before i ordered it, i e-mailed the company so i could purchase the right one. Now let me ask again what the hell went wrong?

There's your problem...running the harness creates an open loop in your system. Your car will not run fine with just the harness. If you check the code it will say MAP sensor if I'm correct.

so that means i have to install vafc even if it isnt tuned (no settings whatsoever to it) would that cause any problems? can i do it that way? i have no problem in doing it if thats the main problem.
Just putting the V-AFC in without changing settings will be fine. Just don't change any settings period. Let a competant(sp?)tuner dyno tune it if anything.
