Default H23A1

I have a 93' Prelude with the H23 engine. I was wondering what I can do to the motor. I already have an intake, and muffler. I was also wondering what name brand of products would work best on the H23. Thanks for the advice.

If you already have a cai(cold air intake)and exhaust your next mod should be a header.DC sports makes a header for the h23.After that check into a fuel pressure regulator to compensate for the additional airflow. Also dont forget a simpl tune-up never hurts(cap, rotor, plugs, wires). This should get you started and not spend all of your money.Once all that is done get back to us for some more extreme mods.

personally i would not put on a VTEC head on the h23a1 , you got to rmeber that your h23a1 has alot of potential behind it, juts get the basic tuneup, you got the main things, geta high flow cat, dc sprts ss headers, a fuel pressure regulator would be a beneficial factor. you have alot of low end power vesus, i with the h22a4 is more avanced in timing. if i were you that engine is strong for a turbo. juts get thing port and polished with JUN cams, Cam sprockets, new valve springs anmd retainers, new rods., etc etc . you get the point. but my friend actually has a custom made turbo on his h23a1, and i got to tell you,. holly ****. itz nice

A turbo would be nice. Gude made some nice NA cams at one time. Not that I promote regrinds, but I do not think there is much cam wise for the H23A...

It's way too much work to make it into a vtec. so no an option less ya have lots of money and tech knowledge. two different displacements due to the crank. so puttting a h22a1 head on it would be lots of work

Is the Gude head package all cracked up to what they say it is? Also if I go turbo, what would be a good turbo package to buy?

The Gude head package is good.I have it on my h23.Just an example the car went from a best of 15.2 in the quarter stock to 14.2 with the head package and bolt-ons
and a one time pass with slicks(not drag radials)of 13.9.I will warn you that dealing with Bill Gude is an experience.Their customer service is horrible(they still owe me 150$ from 2 years ago)but their work is great. If you do decide to deal with Gude tyr to ask for Mike he is pretty cool.Bill is cool also if you catch him on the right day.If you have any more questions about your car feel free to ask i have been building mine for about two and a half years and have learned alot along the way.

When I was running the H23 I had relative success in making decent power. The modifications on the engine included: JG Pro-series head, JG 303 cams, RC engineering 66mm tb, DC header, 2.5 inch exhaust, 2 1/4 cat, MSD 6al, G-force ECU and an AEM intake. With these mods I managed to run a 15 flat at 91 mph with drag radials at an elavation of 4200 ft. I think a time like that at sea level corrects to about a 14.2 at 95, granted if the all other variables were present. The car was great in the street, the mid range power was excellent for a 4 cylinder but it ran out of high end power quickly, my best times were achieved by shifting at 7000 in 1st gear while the rest at 6700. Anyways those were my experinces with the H23.

h23 motor with a head package can't run pretty strong, a head package includes cams, p&p head and intake and modifed ecu

si93lude, how many miles does your h23 have on it
and have you done a compression or leakdown test on it?
if you decide to boost, you should have it done

I pulled a 15.2@89mph with a basicly stock h23a1 in my 90 accord at1200ft in the summer of 2002. Never got to race last summer because of school. I had a short ram accord intake, 2" exhaust, ngk wires and a upgraded clutch. I can show you the timeslip if you like. L8r
