im sure there is a kit you can buy for hybrid h23. i know that there is a kit for ls/vtec... thats what i used. it came with everything you needed, and detailed instructions... (where to tap your block and other stuff).

so basically grab a h22 head, bolt the sucker on and pray? What about the ECU? does it need to be wired to something for solenoid activation? And I heard something about some oil squirters?

all you need is a head, ecu, and h22 headgasket.

remember to pull the small plug out of the vtec oiling channel before bolting the head on.

FIRST AND FOREMOST if you don^`t know the exact detail, don`t post...

you need much more than that...

the thermostat assmebly of a h22a head is differnt from a h23, so is the water pipe, the water pump is different as the head studs, as the timing belt gears and adjusters, intake and exaust manifolds as vacum lines and colland lines..

don`t post if you dont`have proper first hand experience... i have done this swap personally , i know what is needed.. and simply not a head!!!!

and you also need to modify the block also to work.... not as easy as they say !

I learned the hardway and won`t simply give out the details but from everybody i`ve talked to not ONE, had the right steps or had the proper details.. and that makes it harder when you encounter suprises...

easier to make an h23vtec from a 2.2 than a 2.3....

i gotta run got better things to do..

It will be easier if u buy the whole H22 motor. Little parts will break your pocket.
H22A Head (complete) w/injectors
Head Bolts
Head Gasket
Timing Belt
Timing Belt Pulley that goes on the oil pump
Water Pump
Thermostat Assembley
ECU
H22 Header
I forgot if you need H22 oil pump or not
All these items has to be from H22
Sorry if I forgot anything, I hope this Helps
Try to rebuilt the bottom end like main bearing and rod bearings

actually you don't need the pulley for the balance shafts *oil pump* that one is turned by the balance shafts, however you need the crank trigger... you also need the "WATER PIPE", stock h23 oil pump works... headbolts on h22a are longer than h23, also you can re-use the distributor.. also some modifcation on block mounting stuff, power steering brakets etc...

also modifying some coolant lines etc.. and the ecu....

Dont forget to take the oil orifice out of the block. Its right in the middle of the block on the backside where knock sensor is. If u have any more ?'s e-mail me

I think u need the sprocket that goes on the crank for timing belt.

You'll need the "Vtech Type R" badge on the back of your trunk as well if you want to utilize the power.
