Default h23 to h22 problems

hey i have a 96 prelude si which came with the h23 motor, buuuuut i blew that up and decided to switch to an h22 one of my friends advised me to buy a motor off tigerjapanese.com so i did, i bought a 97 h22 since it was an obd2, and now the car doesnt work, my mechanic is telling me that if i get a 96 p13 since it is an obd2 ecu the car will work right.... can anyone tell me if this is the case or how to get my car to work....

'96 has the obd2 ecu, but yours is not the p13, you have the p14 since your car came with the Si motor originally. Get the appropriate ecu and then go from there. But then you have to figure out why the car doesn't start.

Yeah P13 is OBD1 H22 ecu. There is actually 3 differnet H22 ecu's I hear for the H22.

OBD1 preludes have p13
4th gen 96 prelude has obd2 P13(or some weird varation)
5th gen preludes have OBD2 have something else

What you want is like this I believe
