I am in the process of building this H23 for a friend. So far the mods are:
JE 9.0:1 pistons and rings
eagle rods
Kiazenspeed balance shaft removal kit
Greddy kevlar timing belt
king berings
arp head studs
stock valve train
mitu T25 turbo
stock crank
I was wondering what manage ment system or anything else i should have him buy( motor is going into a civic as well)
thanks

Greddy doesn't make an H23 timing belt, only H22. Gates does make a stronger H23 timing belt though...
You also can't stick those forged pistons in without sleeving the block.

yea you def need to have your block sleeved to run forged pistons cause of the FRM of the stock walls. go with a bigger turbo..buddy of mine has a garret fs. im pretty sure its a .57 trim. brand new
i havent heard of this term until i started visiting this forum, what is the "FRM" of the stock cyl walls, and why does that not allow us to run forged pistons? do we have to sleve the block to run Hypereutectic pistons?

Im building an h23a1 for turbo as well, and havent decided on the engine managment yet either, looking at the hondata s300 or AEM EMS right now. biggest thing im runnung into is a lack of places to have machining work done on the block right now. Ive got a set of new OEM pistons to go in but am looking for an aftermarket alternative thats a little more turbo compatible without having to resleeve.
One thing I am set on is the turbo
IHI RHF5

currently the only two pistons that are known to work with FRM are Mahle and JUN pistons....and i wouldnt put high compression JUN pistons in a turbo motor.....
sleeve it and get it over with. If you are building an engine for a friend, you dont want to be a guinea pig and it blow up and ruin whatever reputation that you have.
