h22a timing belt walking off the cam gears
i got fed up with it and took it to a shop and head them put it on and the same thing happened i got all the new parts and it makes no sense and i ran it with the valve cover off and it dus not go off the gears at all i put it back on and drive it and it shreds the belt in so lost on what to do next could it be that my toner messed up on the ecu and my motor is running higher rpm than the belt can handle? i am up to try eny thing i got almost $$$1000 into this timing belt grimland and im about to throw this motor away and stort over
Ok so I got all the new parts on the manual tensioner and all the balance shaft stuff back on as well. I put a new water pump on it and that ware I think I have fawn my problem the bolt that goes thro the timing belt tenshoner idler pulley was cross threaded and broke coming out so I went to Honda and got the bolt its all back together now but it has a lot of belt wine it almost swords like it has a super charger what could that be do you think I got the belt to tite?. And its staying on the cam gears now dut just making a weird sound
the wining sound usually means the belt is too tight and putting strain on bearings, which can lead to the bearings giving out down the road.... somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
I think it would snap before it would shred in that case... but seeing how your timing belt has a history of walking off something could be leaning, which will in turn put more stretch on one end of the belt that can cause it to tear instead of snap but i think that's less likely to happen.
