H22 FULLY BUILT HELP
I have an F22 in my prelude and im doing a complete swap...
i want to know if i should do a fully built h22 motor or just some parts done to the motor...i am aiming for 11's-12's so if someone can supply me a list to get me there that would be great! i have the fully built motor planned out and its around $7500 ish. Although what can be done such as pistons, injectors, crank, etc so make it a 11-12 sec car without being fully built.. thanks

so you are wanting to buy a h22 that is built already to go that fast or you want to put money into a h22 to go that fast, because your going to need a sleeved block for that much compression. were you thinking boosted or N/A
In my opinion you are going to need a fully built motor to get a prelude to go down the quarter mile in 11-12s. You need to decide whether you want to go NA or forced induction. I think it is going to be much easier to make the HP you need to go that fast with a turbo setup. Have you given any thought to using the f22 bottom end and putting a h22/h23 head on it? The f22 has iron sleeves already but I am unsure how much power they can handle.
F23 block/H23 head and a lot of Nitrous! This is going to be your cheapest route.......If you still want to have fun w/o Nitrous, just look into a stock H22A or H23A(vtec)
Yeah we I have an f22 right now and what I thought about doing was using the f22 block and the h22 head but I'm not sure about all of it because I need to buy the complete h22 swap so that I can have the tranny and stuff. I don't know how much the f22 tranny can take and plus I'd need to get new si axels and a few more things. But I wanted to do all motor and run it once then turbo it and see what she does

This forum isn't here to spoon feed you though. You need to learn to start reading. There are a million* stickies in this site. Try the search function!. You want the cheapest way to run 11s/12s, you've heard it here.
"F23 block/H23 head and a lot of Nitrous! stock H22A or H23A(vtec) "
I would say turbo it personally, but thats because Nitrous is a tad expensive in long run and you don't get the performance all the time. Recharging in a bit of a headach in my town anyway, not too many people do that here.
Either way to reach 11s N/A your going to have to build your whole motor for N/A, run high compression using sleeves (I would use the iron block), and run race fuel possibly(depending on a multitude of factors).

I've spent about $600 on nitrous refills since I set my car up. $3/lb and about 20 bottles worth.
Inconvenient for some people, yes......expensive, no.......
I think NOT having constant performance is an advantage......The motor will last longer!
I don't want to use nitrous and I don't have time to search for stuff on here and see what people have to say. I just wanted some advice and my question answered thanks anyways but no nitrous for me
11-12secs and NOT fully built......The Prelude BIG DOGS are at that 13.0 mark(with potential 12sec setups & 250-300whp) with FULLY BUILT MOTORS........I think if you're looking for a CHEAP ROUTE......sell you Prelude(or keep as a Daily Driver) buy an EG/EK Civic Hatch and put a STOCK H22 in there with great cams and a great header......
Those guys are going high 11s-mid12s all day long........
EG Hatch=$2-4k
H22A engine/trans=$1500
Mounts and misc crap=$1k
Header=$1k
Cams/Valvetrain=$1k
I want to say our shop hatch is >$10k and went 11.9x on slicks last year.....and that was Stock EuroR Cams and an H22A-EuroR with SMSP header. Only made 187whp on a Dyno Dynamics(205whp tuned on eCtune, but haven't made a clean pass with that power yet)
Or you could always buy a shitbox DUMBestiCRAP GM product and run 12s by removing the ashtray......

I think turbo would be ur best bet i know two buddies that pulled 11.8 and 12.9 off a mildly built h22a head h23 trannyjdm block also, and other guy was pulling12.9 on h22a mild build (head work) and boosted. their both very good tuners also. but anything is possible with the right amount of time money tuning and a little knowledge.
