Getting a code 41
I'm getting a code 41... which means primary oxygen sensor heater, circuit malfunction... does this mean my O2 sensor has to be changed? its a 1992 prelude SR 193,000kms... thanks boys

could it also mean that i have a bad circuit connection or its the sensor for sure? cause im getting pretty bad idling so im thinking that COULD be the problem?!?
it could the the wires but more than likely it's a bad sensor. The rough idling could be because of the O2 sensor.
They are open/close loop systems. When the sensor is bad or throwing a code it switches to the closed loop meaning that it uses the programed Air/Fuel ratios. When the sensor is working the goes into open loop meaning that it takes readings from the sensor and determines the Air/Fuel ratio.

how would you know if its a circuit malfunction or if the o2 needs to be replaced? Whats a code 36? Also a code 22 is something about vtec oil pressure?? What would that do? Will that make the engine not run right? Been running with a CEL for the longest time. just recetly pulled the codes and got 22 36 41. any help is apreciatied.

huh... no Idea why you would be getting a VTEC code then...
If I where you, I would check all the codes again. Write them all down then reset the ECU. See if any come back. I have never seen anything for a code 36 before...
Maybe someone here knows if there are more codes than what are listed in the Helms??? Personally I have not come up with any.

no no dude sorry... i have a H23 and i'm running a code 41... oxygen sensor circuit malfunction... before i would get a code 2 which is primary oxygen sensor failure or whatnot, but now im not getting that anymore... im just getting code 41.. any help?
sorry....im the one with the H22 gettin codes 22, 41, 36. my 41 went away after unpluggin and repluggin the o2 sensor. Probably is a bad o2 but no code was thrown after doing that. 36 is 4ws code if you have a ecu that came off a 4ws prelude. It will not throw a check engine light though, so no worries there. 22 is a vtec malfunction?? Thats the one im askin about. thanks
ohhh whoops. I didn't even notice that there was 2 of you posting codes
For the O2 sensor code you need a new sensor. No way really around it.
Here is a list of the codes... I think they are all the same but I didn't check them all. http://www.151boost.com/tech2.htm

You can test the curcuit, with the proper tools, by tapping into the wiring on the O2 sensor itself, to see that you have continuity. But, it's most likely the sensor itself.
I recently helped a neighbor of mine remove his O2 sensor that was simply shorting out at the sensor, but he had to replace the sensor to fix that as well.

I got the same code (41) and I replaced my o2 sensor and the problem went away. There is no way to replace just the heater it's all one unit. Costs more than the standard O2 sensor but... oh well nothing you can do about it.
