Function & Form Coilovers
Anybody running these on their 97-01 Prelude? If so can you tell me the ride quality on these because i'm thinking of picking up a set. Or if anybody has some other good full coilover suggestions throw them out.
I have them on my car. I had KYB AGX before with a set of coilovers.
These are night and day better. The adjustment on them allows you to go pretty low and still have a pretty comfortable ride. and then you can stiffen them up and use them at the track.
for me they were definately worth the money.

I haven't seen a single dyno of these. Put your money into quality proven products. Koni GC is your best option if you want aftermarket.

Same product, too haha. Seriously the D2s, F&Fs and KSports all look exactly the same and as I understand it they are made in the same factory. I don't know what, if any, the real differences are.
I like my D2s though and I want to get some KSports for our CR-V

Well, the D2s are purple, the K Sports are orange, and the FFs are red. So I guess it depends what color your car is will determine what warks best on your car, right? Seriously, I figured they were all pretty good and fairly priced. I have seen the K Sports on ebay for 840.00 shipped. I will probably order a set one day.

Ive never seen a suspension dyno
....but these are a full coilover/ dampner system he is talking about, not a set of koni yellows w/ eibach(G.C) springs, the 2 are night and day in comparison.

does that make them 'true coilovers' then??

So are you saying because D2's/Ksports are full coilovers they will outperform koni/GC combo?

Well if koni yellows paired with Gc's are the best set up,how come Race teams in every series opt for a full dampening system,a full coilover w/ adjustable dampening, instead of eibach springs and koni yellows?
I belive that is a good street set up,and I have run the combination in my 4th gen before, and loved it.....but I doubt its the best suspension out there. You can find way more sophisticated dampening system with a larger array of variation, for the different driving styles and conditions.
So to answer your question, yes I d belive a full coilover system will out perform that combo.....I have drove my friends 5th gen with the tein coilovers and even though he had it on the softest setting,it still handled great, but with about 10x more comfort than my set up,so I would imagine on the stiffest set up,it would rail corners as well if not better than my current set up with Konis, and skunk2 coilovers.

You realize the only external difference between Koni/GC and FF is a threaded body right? You also realize that Koni is one of the foremost damper companies in the world?
Lmao at the race teams comment. Basically ever Honda Challenge car uses Koni shocks. They're also used by McLaren and other teams in Formula One. And also original equipment in oem's like Lamborghini.
Crap from Taiwan like FF have only popped up in the last few years. Show me even a single dyno of the shocks to prove that they're not crap. Others have asked with no response from these crap manufacturers. Suckas like you who buy shocks and springs to match the car color are their main customers.

I was being sarcastic. Put your money towards something like Koni which has millions of dollars and thousands of hours into developing the damper curves.

No they are not getting paid, lol, its just a great set up,for a decent price. But people tend to fall in love with a certain product or set up that they have on their own vehicle, which is fine and dandy, but it still dosent make it the best product.
Honda Tech is very trendy and there are alot of people who just pop on here and read a thread, and take it to the bank, like its the word of God himself......then that person regirgitates it to every one else in the same manner/fashion and they do the same....the funny part being half of the people who swear by this set up have never experienced it at all, just read it on HT,so it must be the truth

To the above poster I agree with going with something proven, just do your research.I have never said anything about the Form and Function,as much as the system.Koni's are great, they are one of the best ,period...,but the Koni yellow isnt their top of the line strut....they have much more sophisticated dampening systems,do they not? Or do they just run koni yellows in every series?

You can buy whatever the hell is out there, the reason people prefer or lean toward a KONI GC combo is simple it been done on many preludes and works for many years so its proven overtime.....so instead of trying to reinvent the wheel people point out what works with a template thats proven.
