Default which FPR?

I've heard some people say that AEM's are crap and apparently their site says that you can only use their FPR with their fuel rail. I've also heard some stories about B&M's leaking. Anyone have any experience with either of these or can recommend one of these or another one?

Yes, you do have to buy the AEM fuel rail to use the AEM fpr. I have both and I am very happy with their quality. You can't use the AEM fpr with the Zex nitrous kit, though.

You have to use a B&M fpr for the zex kit.

You guys are smoking crack, you can use the AEM FPR without the AEM Fuel Rail.. I have the AEM FPR on my stock fuel rail on my car right now, NO PROBLEMS with it..

I mean, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with the AEM FPR, only that it costs like 2 times as much as a B&M FPR.. both are good, just some people like name brand poo poo.

Good for you. I hope you don't get any leaks. http://www.preludeparts.com/cgi-bin/...roduct=AEM_FPR
Edit: Here's another one. http://coximport.com/aem/fuelapps.html
Look at the bottom of the Honda section.

wow. AEM says you need their fuel rail for the h22 fpr... but not for the b series ones. so basically they're full of it?

maybe i could trouble you to take a pic of it... i'd like to get one to replace my stock+b&m but there's not a lot of room behind the rail in my application. (sc in the way)

If I read "poo poo" agian...

Anyway, B&M Command flo and FPG. Great accuracy, great price, easy adjustment. Nuff said...

the problem with the b&m is that since it doesn't replace the stock fpr, you will never be able to lower the pressure below what the really small orifice in the stocker allows. for those of use with bigger fuel pumps, it sucks. the only workaround is drilling a hole in the damn thing. if the AEM works on the stock fuel rail i'm there in a second!

Laughin: That really sounds like a sales gimmick to get you to spend more money while purchasing the FPR.. I've been using the AEM FPR on my stock rail for almost a year now, and no leak problems.. I mean, if I were leaking, I would assume I would get nasty weird power surges and or crappy gas mileage.. I am ordering a AEM Fuel rail soon, and i'll check to see if there's any leaks on the stock rail.. all of that is news to me..

One apparently thing I noticed after the install of the AEM FPR is that right after cranking up and driving.. the car will hesistate and act like it's not getting any fuel the first 30 seconds of driving, but after that it's ok.. I assumed that it was the pressure increase causing this problem, although a leak could very well cause this too.. but I get excellent gas mileage, like 30 miles to the gallon on a H22A, which is excellent..

Update: Looked around for information regarding less, and aparently there's a slight problem with using the AEM FPR on the stock Prelude fuel rail.. Like I said, i've been using the AEM FPR on my Fuel rail for almost a year, could be why my car acts funny after cranking up on it.. Apparently I need to order a AEM Fuel rail right away before I cause myself some major problems, don't wanna start a fire under the hood.

Update: Found out the reason why the FPR doesn't fit on the stock Prelude fuel rail... it's not because it can't make a seal.. it's because the butterfly diaphragm is in the way and blocks you from being able to fit the AEM FPR in that location, being that it's much larger than the stock FPR. Soooo.. You CAN use the AEM FPR on the Prelude, however, you gotta unbolt the diaphragm and swing it down a bit to provide enough clearance to fit the AEM FPR on the rail.. The secondaries on the intake manifold still work fine after doing this.. but the AEM FPR does bolt onto the stock rail fine..

If your going to spend the cash on an an AEM why don't you spend a little extra and get a Paxton or SX. This will give you the option of adding a fuel pressure gauge right off the regulator. It's obviously not the best choice if cost is the main isssue or if you are trying to match other components you already have though. This is the route I would take if you are going to be adding some major hp later and is not hard to fit with an aftermarket fuel rail.......just another route to go.

Yeah, I can't turn my pressure below 43psi on my B&M. Maybe its that Walbro 342 in my tank........................

My next one will probably be a Paxton.

JG- who thinks it's about time he goes and gets his Lude back up and running

A guy on SHO's nitrous forum, aka where I was schooled in the black art of nitrous, tried using one with his Zex kit and he kept busting the diaphragm in the fpr. He ended up giving up on it after the third or fourth diaphragm blew and bought a NOS kit.

AEM's Fuel Rail has the option of using a Fuel Pressure Gauge.. that's why AEM didn't put this option on their FPRs.

I understand what you are saying but there are other choices besides an AEM fuel rail. STR has them too. Just giving some options....that's all.

the one that says civic / crx / integra / nsx : bmm-46057

part of the install involves sawing in half your stock fpr, so there's no going back.....

You can see the gauge just fine.

The 5th Gen has the fuel filter in a different location. In an poo poo makes it difficult to change the oil filter with the B&M gauge on. You can use a fuel line to extend it out if you still want this option.

EDIT: I can't say 'SH', and then 'it' even with a space inbetween without this crappy curse filter changing it to 'poo poo'. Where it's says 'poo poo' up there, replace it with 'SH model it'.
