Default Found: Shock Knock

Well, my knocking sound from the rear end has been found.. The sound has gotten progressively worse in the last year. It turns out to be, the rear swaybar stabilizer links. The arm that holds the swaybar onto the rear spindles(knuckles) are shot. So every little bump in the road it bangs against itself, makeing a knocking sound. Both of them need to be replaced at 42 bux apeice. So If anyone that has a knocking noise comeing from the rear wheelwell area, I would check the links on the swaybar. You shouldnt beable to move them up and down.

hey... $42 a peice... Most rear 25mm strutbars run like that... $240 each? Give or take. That's $324. Damn so the neuspeed would still be $100 over that lol.

Might as well spurge!

Shocks are new with, bushings, collar, ext... Did it before and is still doing it. This might not be everyones problem, but in my case it is.

All you have to do to check it is, grab the rear swaybar were it connects to the spindle, push and pull up and down, and see if it moves and makes a knocking sound.

I had the same problem. Lucky for me the rattle was in the rubber bushings and not the knuckles. So the cost was $5.

I did the struts and the noise was still there. So I did alittle searching to find that post. Its alot cheaper if this is problem.

so you wait three months after the last post and post this:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Cottonwoodz &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Shock knock cure </TD></TR></TABLE>

nice pat on your own back

then you go a year and three months and this?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Cottonwoodz &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">w00t</TD></TR></TABLE>

wtf is wrong with you, you have the maturity level of a high school kid.
