Flywheel Question
Hey,
I just bought an Exedy Stage 1 clutch and I also want to get a lighweight flywheel. Does it have to be an Exedy flywheel or would any flywheel work with that clutch?

Any flywhel that would fit your tranny would work. BTW, your stage 1 is no better than a Stock clutch. There is a big price difference comparing the two so why not? on the Stage 1.
Thanks for the info. I actually didnt order the clutch yet so thanks for telling me that. Also, do you know what the benefits of a lightwieght flywheel are?

try and refrain from talking out of your *** please.
"better" is a very subjective word, here is some non-subjective info.
My brother has an exedy stage 1 and about 200whp, on an lsd, moderately "flogged". and there are no slipping problems and it has held up well for plenty of miles.
I have a clutchmasters stage 1 and had about 200whp, also on an lsd, "moderately flogged" and same story, after 40k miles no problems.
A stage 1 clutch is both a good purchase and an upgrade from a stock clutch, the pedal feels better, and due to the fact that it clamps harder than a stock pressure plate, you're less likely to slip and reduce clutch life.
Unless you're going turbo or something crazy don't waste money on a stage 3 clutch.

i "heard" the same thing when i asked my clutch question months ago, everyone was saying Exedy stage 1 is same as OEM, yadda yadda. bought it anyway and it did feel a lot better on the pedal, although my tranny blew a few weeks later (taking some clutch springs with it) due to a loose drain bolt
but i did hear the same thing from a quite a few guys here... ahh, the "heard" word

dude dont listen to anyone bashing on quality products.
how much power do u plan on making? if its not more than 200-230whp ull be fine and happy for awhile. there very "streetable" clutches and are much less of a hassle to drive around town then say a stage three like i have in the teg.

what are you planning to do, turbo? if so go ahead and get the stage3, if you're gonna try that NA, you're gonna need the $$ so the clutch would be my last worry for now.
