Default Final Drive

I'm thinking of buying a final drive 4.64 gear. first, I want to know if the ones on ebay are legit. also are they expensive to have installed and do they stress your tranny/engine or are they safe? how much would it improve my 1/4 mile times??? just dont want jump into it. the h22 gearing just really sucks. and i'm aware of h2b but sounds really expensive and a pain in the rear. thanks.

i would honestly go with the MFactory, why cheap out on something that could fail and take out then entire transmission? then with your repair bill you'd wish you spent the money. no more stress, and its really impossible to say on what your times would be

Since it gives you more torque and accleration down low, Your going to need to have a good suspension and be able to hook up off the line. I have the mfactory 4.64 and I say it should help shave at least .2 -.3 secs off your 1/4 mile time. You can definitely feel what its doing for your car. But i dont have have a baseline to go off of since I upgraded everything in my trans while i did my swap. I'm waiting to get my Koni and Ground Control setup installed to see if that helps get rid of my wheel hop. Then I will go to the drag strip.

Pros: the 4.64 FD lowers your gearing
Cons: the 4.64 FD lowers your gearing

better acceleration in all gears, higher cruising RPMs, less time spent per gear, lower top speed

Aftermarket final drives are extremely suspect. A number of the cheaper brands have had recurring cases of ring gear teeth pitting, crumbling, cracking, and breaking. I'm not sure if it has been determined whether this was a machining or a metallurgy problem, but it is a known and documented issue.

The only brands I would consider are ATS, Quaife, and Houseman.

All the Mfactory products are of excellent quality as many customers on honda-tech can attest to. Some are even roadracers and dragracers.

Houseman only does custom apps for Honda's iirc. ATS/Carbonetic, Mfactory, Circuitworx, Quaife are all good. The Mfactory products are especially cost competitive considering the excellent quality.

(I do not sell any products)
