Factory LSD installation?

I had a friend just offer to give me a JDM factory Viscous LSD with the ring gear and speedo gear!
My question is: Will this setup work with my curent setup? (H22, with an F22 tranny)
If so how difficult is installation? (comparing to say an engine swap - or clutch install)
Also: If it will not work what would I need to be able to use it?
And would you recomend using it? Or should I just by the OBX LSD? I can't afford the Quaife no way no how so please don't recomend it!
Or should I just buy a whole new tranny?
Thank you!

inside the transmission is probably the hardest work you can do, there are all kinds of bearings, clips, crap, and clearances to worry about....
i have had more than enough problems with differentials....i would pay a shop to do it, or just dont...
oh and ps....i would love to see it if you had a viscous diff.....are you sure its not a torsen type??

i'd definitely have the tranny taken out of the car, then take the tranny and the LSD to the shop.
tranny removal/reinstall is at least a $300 charge, and it's something most of us can do ourselves.
i'm pretty sure the diff is a torsen diff--and i'm not sure if it'll fit in an F22 casing.

Thanks for the help Pirate, but I still don't exactly understand!
That whole post was a little over my head when it comes to transmissions!
It sounded like they said it will work! (correct me if I am wrong)
But is that without case modification?
Is this gonna be worth the time and money it will take, or should I just save and buy a new tranny altogether?
Thanks

For the price you pay to "try" and time to make it work only to find out that it doesn't you could of found yourself a factory lsd equiped unit.
